Course description
This course prepares you for the ABRSM Level 2 Award in Music Theory (Grade 5) exam and associated qualification.
In this course, you will develop your understanding of music theory. You will be introduced to irregular time signatures, quintuplets and sextuplets, the tenor clef, transposing instruments, new keys and scales, the circle of 5ths, more intervals, the supertonic chord, cadences, harmonisation, voice types and their ranges, and written out ornaments. You will also become familiar with more terms and signs in common use.

6. Intervals with or without a key signature; chromatic and compound intervals
7. The supertonic chord (II); cadences; harmonisation and inversions
8. New instruments; transposing instruments; voice types and their ranges
9. Written out ornaments; new terms and signs
